I almost gave up on this book. ALMOST. Initially, I thought "Oh a sports romance!! Hooray!" because I love sports romance. I struggled with Lovey though. She is very shallow, self centered and immature. It was hard to want a good guy like Marc to fall for her. I LOVED Marc. A hockey player who ISN'T a man whore! Woohoo!!! He is everything Lovey isn't-he is thoughtful, concerned for his teammates, and giving of him time to those in need. I knew he could make Lovey a better person, but I wanted someone who was worthy of him. So, I almost gave up. But, I hate giving up on a book. So, I kept going. By the end, I was glad I did. Lovey does become a better person and for that I am glad. Marc stays amazing and I am really looking forward to Duncan's book (not sure when that will be!). I actually kind of liked all the guys on the team. They seem very mature and mostly focused. They aren't a team full of party boys who act like frat brothers. It was refreshing for a sports romance. So many books in this genre go to that stereotype so I applaud Kelly Jamieson for that!
